ملخص فكرة المشروع Motor brain-computer interface (BCI) refers to the BCI that decodes voluntary motion intentions from brain signals directly and outputs corresponding control commands without activating peripheral nerves and muscles. Motor BCIs can be used to restore, compensate, and augment motor function by activating the neuromuscular circuit and facilitating neural plasticity. The essential applications of motor BCIs include neurorehabilitation and daily-life assistance for motor-impaired patients. <br /> In recent years, studies on motor BCIs have mainly concentrated on neural signatures, movement decoding, and its applications. Improvements in EEG technology allow for direct control of external devices, including robots, using brain signals. This emerging field of BCIs offers promising opportunities to enhance the mobility and independence of individuals with disabilities.<br /> Our project aims to develop a novel BCI system that enables users to control robotic arms solely through their thoughts. By utilizing non-invasive measurements of cortical activity through EEG, we capture brain signals and employ advanced signal processing techniques to extract relevant features from the data. Subsequently, state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms are trained to classify these features, enabling accurate decoding of user intentions into control commands that allow individuals to operate assistive devices.<br /> We aim to bridge the gap between neural intent and real-world action, offering increased independence and a greater sense of control. By empowering individuals to perform tasks through thought alone, this BCI system aims to break down barriers, foster inclusion, and open new possibilities for human-machine interaction.
المشكلة التي يحلها المشروع Millions of individuals worldwide suffer from motor disabilities caused by conditions such as spinal cord injuries, strokes, or cerebral palsy. These impairments often strip individuals of their ability to perform fundamental activities, such as moving, communicating, or interacting with their environment. While assistive technologies like wheelchairs, robotic prosthetics, and eye-tracking systems have provided some relief, they remain inadequate for individuals with severe motor impairments or complete loss of voluntary muscle control
